Yesterday I was told to drop my wagon at the meat packing plant we haul out of. No problem.

I get there and they have a policy that all trailers will be inspected and washed out prior to dropping in their lot. No problem.

I walk inside and finally get the guys attention and ask him, "How long of a wait do I have before ya wash my wagon?"

The guy came unglued! :wtf: He immediately copped an attitude with me and made several smart assed remarks along with cussing at me too. :wow: :wtf:

I was already tired and grumpy and wasn't in any kind of mood to deal with idiots, so I snapped back at him (without cussing him). The other guy working heard this and came over while Mr. Attitude went back to washing out the trailer that was in the door.

After explaining to him what happened, it really didn't seem to register in his brain as he turned and walked away. :wow:

I said 'to hell with it' and went back out to my truck and seriously contemplated leaving and making my dispatcher run the trailer over after I dropped it at the shop. :D

It wasn't 3 minutes later that the guy came out and inspected my trailer and put me ahead of a couple other trucks. :wow:

20 minutes later, my wagon was washed out and I dropped it in their lot and was bobtailing my way to the shop .

Found out when I got to the shop that the packing plant had my trailer scheduled to load last night.

Either way from now on, I'm not gonna put up with that crap from those idiots at the trailer wash / spotting service. Next time I have any kind of problem like that, my dispatcher can get off his butt and go drop my wagon over there.

Dave, have you ever noticed that, contrary to what our parents may have told us about gaining respect by being polite, it seems as though there are some people in this world that don't ever give anyone respect until each person rips that jerk a new @$$hole?

I've been around many people like that, and they found out the hard way that I'm not afraid to give an attitude right back to them. It's unfortunate that we have to resort to bringing ourselves down to their level to get things accomplished.

I always believed that if "YOU IMPLY YOU CAN KICK AZZ YOU SELDOM HAVE IT IMPLYED YOU NEED TO KISS AZZ" to get things done

Today everything is a hassle by those employed to do it , all you get is the SNARKY comments or IT'S NOT MY JOB attitude.

I.B.P. Tyson plants are like that Dave. When I go to Holcomb. Dodge City or Emporia I have to deal with rudeness.

The last time I went and picked up I told the guard shack, the guard shack told someone and then they told the guy washing my trailer out.

Needless to say when I went back there to pick up my trailer he was kissy kissy and all nice to me. It might be called tattling or whatever, but it's people like that-that can make a drivers day miserable and no one should put up with it.

I feel for ya!

Everyone has the potential to be a jerk from time to time. To play devil's advocate a little the guy doing the washouts may have been having a bad day in some way or had a driver or two go off on him because he was "taking too long" to get to them. Then again some people are just so miserable in their own pathetic little lives they have to make anyone around them the same way.

While there is no call for treating people like dirt from the word go, it does happen.

Dave next time that happens (you get cussed out), just tell them that maybe they need to take the hose and wash their mouths out instead of the trailer.

It seems that no matter where you go there is always some jerk that seems to think that they should just get paid to be at their job and not actually do the job.

The Excel meat plant in Friona TX was the complete opposite of rude. They even asked if I just wanted to drop it and have their spotter come and take it to the wash rack. I was impressed!

I get attitudes from people also. And when they really get me angry I always come with this come back:

"Look i don't like fighting-- but if you keep running your mouth im not afraid to go back to jail!"

They dont need to know i've never been to jail. But it usually stops the attitude and I get what I want done LOL. Granted not the greatest plan and probably no one will agree with me-- but it works for me.

Dave remember, it's been this way all through life, SIZE MATTERS! Being a big fella draws attention, sometimes unwarrented.

Waht I'm saying is some slack jaw thinks, huh, big guy vs. little guy, I'll pizz him off and they'll believe me when I say he bullied me. Walk tall and carry a big stick. My stick is KINDNESS, been carring it now for about 11 years. Kill 'em with kindness. Overused term but more times than not it has worked for me.

Hows that song go the kids listen to???

Don't start no drama, won't be no drama. :yikes:

At ease man, don't let the lonely schmucks get under your skin, you'd be a sh!t too if you had to wash trailers all day. ;)
