Other than trucking or trucks do have hobbies that you enjoy doing. I have several when I can find the time. My first is going to the lake and fishing or hunting. I have a new hobby now that I have learned is very exspensive. I also make candles for fun and extra money. I would have pictures when I know how to post them here. They may not be interesting.

What things do you like to do?

I collect hummingbirds and angels so yard sales are a big thing with me. I also like to fish, crochet, garden in my yard ( veggies and flowers) and sing Country Music.

I have a '73 Dodge Charger that I restored years ago. I show it, drive it in parades, and drag race it. I'm standing next to the black one in the photo below taken in July 2001 when I had the car in South Dakota for a rally.

I also like to fish saltwater, and have caught quite a few Bull Reds, and sharks.

Here's a 3' Blacktip I caught in November 2003.

Here's my Hammerhead I caught in March 2001 while getting my truck repaired in Fort Lauderdale, FL. 9 1/2' long, 290 lbs.

...And here he is (an exact replica) on the wall of my living room.

I'm into music, especially rock & metal. I used to sing & play lead guitar in a band until I pretty much killed my voice years ago. I still have a few of my guitars, but admittedly have just as much fun now doing the "pre-concert tailgate parties", and then go into the concert feeling no pain courtesy of lots of cold beer & a few Jagermeister shots! :classic:

Being an American Indian, I also love attending pow-wows and other events that relate to my heritage.

I like to sew. I made a quilt for my daughter this past November, and I also made one for my mother in law for Easter. The next one I am working on is for my 14 yr old son. Then I have to make one for my 12 yr old son.
I also read.
I babysit a little girl who will be 2 in June. And tomorrow I might have an added bonus of my cousin's baby who is a month old. I simply love kids!!
I am also very active in the Boy Scouts, as both my sons have been in it for 6 years (previously Cub Scouts). I go on camp outs with them, I also help with the Klondike Derby in the winter. Both my husband and I are Assistant Leaders for their troop.
I also help with Ladies Ministries at our church and am on the Women's Council. And I sing every weekend at church with the Worship Team, there are now 6 of us in the group.

I also love to shoot, and go hunting and fishing.

My hobbies include criminal justice, criminal profiling, serial killers, fishing, photography, putting up with mens carp, 4 wheeling, dunbuggy racing on my fathers circle track and as of lastnight looks like I like to party.

No I'm not weird, just the opposite. You all are the weird ones. Exceptions are Dave, Bean, Hairbear, Foxfire, TW and the other ones I met. The ones I haven't met, well there's a reason for that. :harhar: Then the ones I did meet, well reason why I dont' talk to them anymore. :yikes:

I like fishing a lot and been doing it all my life. Trucks are ofcourse close to the heart just like most motor sports are. Something that I´ve been really interested about lately is flying, I don´t have my own permit and plane YET but I´m spending a lot of time at the local airport and even take a trip up in the air every now and then. I know there is a million other hobbies but I just woke up :wtf: :wtf: :wtf:

For starters, I am into Ham radio.

When I have the time I like to skydive, Seems it is always in NC but what the hey.

I enjoy fishing at the lake and especially farm ponds, some of those fish have never seen a hook and really put up a fight. Tasty too. :fishing:

Then on nice, really, nice days We take the motorscycles out for a ride. Don't go far but enjoy it.

I am going to try my hand at flying an Ultra light and see where that goes. :yikes:

I have a nice collection of model trucks and construction equipment. :)

And of course I try to turn most of the honey dos in to a short hobby so it doesn't seem like work.

I collect die cast (mainly trucks of all sorts) as money and space permit. I like taking pictures, but my digital camera is broken  I also constantly fool around with my 93 Chevy C1500 (I have a never ending wishlist :wow: ). I think there is other stuff but Im too tired to think of em.

I was jump qualified on active duty, got bored when I got out, so I started skydiving. Got married, the wife wasn't interested in skydiving, so..........

We got a couple of FLSTF's (Fat Boys) to play with. I've got the FLSTF and she's got an FLSTFI.

We've got a Jeep we take 4 wheeling every now and then too.

I'm a C-130 loadmaster in the Air National Guard. We used to joke to the active duty guys that "what they did for a living, we did for a hobby." . But since Sept 11, that's no longer true.

Next week, I'll be fishing for Halibut off a charter outta Seward, Alaska. May hit the salt water Kings too.

We've also have a little cabin on a ridge about 13 miles north of Talkeetna, Alaska that we bought a few years back. We've got a million dollar view of Denali.

Wait, I'm a married with children, O/O. I don't have time for hobbies. Do I????

Hobbies, hmmmm I'm one that will usually try something new whenever possible.

My favorite:
Traveling (Aruba was my favorite, Cozumel will be my next BIG trip)
Camping
Tubing
Golf (driving range, releases frustration with no harm done)
Scrap booking
Sewing (although been pretty busy to start new projects. Last big project was my daughters home coming dress)
Spending time with my girls at the beach
Fishing
Trap shooting
Target shoot with my bow (which I've sold in hopes of buying a new one, although I can't find one I really like right now)

:D

My hobbies are not the norm.

I like investing. Searching for long term investments.

Daytrading for about 2 hours a day.

Buying homes and redoing them then renting them out for very low prices to old folks on SSI. Or renting them for very high prices and leasing them to the local AFB.

I split alot of fire wood.

I work in my shop on anything I can. I have a metal shop I set up and do a little everything.

Looks like green houses are going to be my next thing. I just bought 5 green houses on one location. I am hopeing this will be as much fun as my gardens only year round.

I like camping, reading, writing and deep sea fishing.

I've only been deep sea fishing once, so I don't guess it can be called a hobby, but I loved it so much! AND, I caught the biggest fish!!

No comparrison to Capt's, but it was a big ol' Red Snapper. Man was that a pain to get it in!! I wanted so bad to get someone to help me, but on a boat full of construction workers, I had to do it myself (to make my hubby proud of course)! I won cool points for that of course. :D

It was a trip my hubby's company pays for once a year, so I'm looking forward to this year's trip!

I was used to the calm and simple pond fishing I did growing up with my dad. Boy was that a HUGE difference. Even the little ones in the ocean can put up a good fight.

With the bigger ones, I had to wimp out and put the pole between my knees for leverage. LOL My arms were so sore the next day.

Oh yeah, the next time, I'm wearing a little sunblock.

YYOOOUUUUCCHHH! We stayed in a hotel the next night, before going back to Atlanta. It was a nice place, but the towel's texture still had a lot to be desired. Of course, on a sunburn, everything is painful.

Officegirl, Do not feel bad. My wife and I both went deep sea fishing twice. Both time she got the biggest on the boat.

She loves it. I have no sea legs. I end up chumming the water.

The red snappers were nice. Her large ones were called King Fish. I do not know if they are good eatting. We always donated to a local shelter.

I like to download new music on my computer.

I currently have about 600 mp3's

daytrader
05-04-2005, 01:37 PM
600! How much music can one person listen too?

officegirl
05-04-2005, 01:52 PM
DT that equals out to be about 40 CD's worth of songs. If you are a person who likes all kinds of music, I can see how it is easily possible. Example 10 rock CDs, 10 Country CD's, 10 Religous CD's, and 10 Hip-Hop (or whatever it is called now) CD's. But then there's also tons of other options out there: Classical, Jazz, New Age, Alternative Rock, Classic Rock, R & B, and the list goes on and on. :D

I love music, so I can see it being easy to do 600. LOL I just can't see paying for all the downloads. Although, for 600 it's only $60-$90 for about 40 CD's worth.

I like reading forums :harhar:

Seriously, I like to fish, golf and shoot my guns. (Remington 870 Express Magnum and Glock 23 .40 cal)

Since I bought my house last year I am going to try and fix up my yard (brand new house with a crappy yard looks bad) But with time and alot of work I ill make it look like Busch Stadium :D

That is what I do to pass time. I read alot on criminal minds and what triggers them to do what they do. My Father in Law is a retired Cop out of Reno NV and he mails me books to read and websites to check out periodotically(sp) to keep me up on what is going on with those that I offer me job security

I like to fish, just to much work. If I do not have something productive to do. I may consider fishing. As long as I do not have to use my poles. Get bait or walk a long way.

Heck sitting on the porch drinking a few cold ones watching the birds on the feeders or the dang squirl that rips them off. Seems like more fun.

I have bought a squirl feeder. I know I am a sucker. Blind folks were selling them. So I had to buy one. I have like 15 bird feeders.

The damn squirel eats out of the bird feeders and the birds love that tree rat feeder. The Blue jays really like it.

That squirel is a real talent. He dosn't only use his hind legs to eat out of the bird feeders. H wraps his tail around the dang old tree and gose to town.

The Blue jays eat off the squirel feeder and the cardinals dine with the tree rat.

The yellow finchies or canaries what ever thet are just watch as we do. Nothing can eat out of their feeder, but them.

I have resorted to drinking beer and watching birds.

I must be a line haul driver now.
