How do you gals keep the feeling you are still a woman? For me it was pride in everything I do. Along with the fact that I tried to dress in clean, neat clothes and brush my hair (a lot!) and maybe just put on a bit of mascara when I woke up. It was in the way I carry myself too. My Daddy has alwways told me, "You can be a lady in anything you do! It's all about attitude!" I think he's right! Give me some of your ideas gals!

FF, I think you're right.

Attitude and Expectations often go hand in hand. If our attitude is right we somehow send signals that return our expectations...
Example:
I always expect to be treated like a lady...and have seldom been disappointed. I have not been afraid to show my vunerablility over things like slippery ice to take or request the hand of a gentleman who is crossing the parking lot to the T/S, or to request help when the grab bar on the tandems is bent and wont catch and I haven't the strength to pull with one hand and get a tight grip on it with the vise grips with the other hand.... I think feminity is being and doing all we can and being real and transparent, and having a lot of kindness (which I need more of). :)

FF, I always tried to stay neat and clean and I did the make-up thing when I could and also my nails are done as well and they didn't get in the way being long...

This is just my opinion, but feminenity is not always the clothes, it's how you act and carry yourself also. I always liked the door opened for me and always said thank you, but hate it when the woman in front of me that had the door opened was too 'rude' to say thank you. The guy didn't HAVE to open it for her. If I smoked, I'd like cigs lite for me when possible. I never expected the men to change themselves when I was present, but it was always nice when it did happen. I was never a know it all and didn't have to always put my 2 cents in all the time. I knew who I was and what I could do and could not do. And always appreciated help when offered.

This is only my opinion. There's a time and place to act like a lady.
Actions speak louder than words.

I'm not much of a makeup wearer. Do like to put on a little lipstick and always a spritz of good smelling cologne.

I am getting tired of being mistaken for a lesbian. Not that I have any offense to them in particular, but I am not one. I have short hair for convience now (even shorter than usual, had to have an emergency haircut after letting a "friend who swore she could cut hair" wail on my head. I pull flatbed. Is that butch? Hell, Foxfire used to! If I didn't flatbed I'd weigh 300 lbs by now. I am a big girl. I wear jeans and t shirts and sometimes I get very dirty! But even when I put mascara, lip gloss, whatever...Oh, yeah, did I mention the ink? When I am back home in Hawaii, the only ones that think I am gay are the mainland haoli. What gives?

It's their pea brained minds. Some people have to make up what a person is or isn't to make themselves feel better about themselves.
I wear cotton dresses all summer. I feel comfortable in them. Every time I get out of the trk, I get the look like I'm a lizzard. Well, I'm not. I have a problem with tight clothes on my side. So when summer comes, out come the dresses. I don't wear a lot make up, but I do like my squirt of perfume. I feel good about me.
