Sooner or later when pulling a van (or reefer) you are going to get a trailer that you will have a very hard time getting the doors to close and fully latch.
When this happens, and before you drag out the hammer and crowbar, get back on your truck and drive to a more level spot of the lot.
Often times, especially with older more worn trailers, there is a lot of flex to the sides and if parked on an uneven surface it will cause the latches to not line up. By moving the truck/trailer to a level surface you can often bring them back into alignment.
