There is a good reason for banned routes in many states. 95% of these roads were built when trucks were shorter than the ones built these days. I drove on 101 thru the Redwood Tree area of Northren Cali today. It was a curvy 2 lane road were one was lucky to go 50 most of the way. Luckily I was in a 40 ft RV, but still struggle on the 3 7% grades I had to climb.

Since we are on basically on the subject of truck routes I think it is important to mention that not all truck routes are created equal.

Some truck routes limit the size, by length, width, or weight or a combination there of.

You can usually stop in a scale house and sometimes they'll have a map of the state that will list the approved routes by size.

I think Iīve seen a book online somewhere that had listed a hole lot of these roads. It was made fot truckers but I donīt think they had all states listed(atleast yet). They had something around 30 states included allready
