A recipe you wouldn't mind sharing?
As for me, I'm always looking for something different to cook. I enjoy cooking, although my girls want the same things all the time.
So if you have a recipe your family enjoys, how about sharing???

I had this dish once somewhere around SanAntonio I think it was, not sure but if I remember correctly it was a couple strays chopped cut diced, mixed with a couple simeese pureed, and a couple field mice chunked added in for flavor was some fish, don't recall what type and I believe it was cooked at 350 for an hour.
It can be covered with Wisconsin cheese if youn's like.
Call Capt. for better instructions but I think this was close. :yikes: :harhar:

I call it hamburger pie (buts it not with peas and mashed potatos)
very fast and easy, kinda like a pizza but better.
Preheat oven to 350
You will need a 9 X 13 pan or baking dish
large fryingpan, or dutch oven oan
2 or 3 cans of refrigerated biscuits
2-3 lbs. ground beef
1 large jar of spaghetti sauce (or homemade sauce if you wish)
2 lbs. (or more) of shredded cheese
options... mushrooms, onions,diced tomato, etc...
Line the 9X13 baking dish with the refrigerated biscuits, press them down to flatten them even press up the sides of the pan set aside.
In lg.frying pan or dutch oven brown ground beef and drain. Place back into frying pan/dutch oven.
Add in all other ingredients (except cheese) to ground beef mixture. Heat on top of stove stirring when needed. Simmer apx.10 minutes.
Take a large spoon (ladle works best) and dip hamburger mixture over your pressed down biscuits. If you have any biscuit dough left over you can also put those into the pan and pour your mixture over that. You can also rotate putting the ground beef mixture and then the cheese into the backing pan. Top with more cheese.
Bake in oven until biscuit dough is a golden brown apx.10-15 minutes.
To me it tastes like a deep dish pizza. I know it seems hard but really it's a quick and easy main meal dinner. Serve with a salad and maybe corn on the cob.

Thanks Kathy! I'll let ya know when I try it :D
My girls and I have 2 favorites I make: Lasgna and Chicken Enchilada's.
I will post them a little later.
The Enchilada's are what my girls ask for ALL the time!! :D
Here's a quick idea for a sandwich that's different and really good:
Use a tortilla, spread mayo (thinly) on the tortilla, spread deli meat, sliced cheese and put shredded lettuce down the center, roll and enjoy! :D Nice alternative and change to using bread.
I took my youngest to Texas with me for Christmas and now everything needs to be put in a tortilla! :yikes:

Buffalo Wings
6 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/4 cup hot red pepper sauce
18 chicken wings (about 3 pounds)
Melt butter in a small sauce pan. Add hot sauce and remove from the heat. Set aside.
In large frying pan or deep-fat fryer, heat 1-inch of oil to 360*F (180*C). Fry wings in batches, without crowding, for about 10 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
Brush wings with spicy butter mixture and serve warm, with blue cheese dressing for dipping.
Buffalo Wings
Sauce Ingredients:
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/2 cup Frank's Louisiana Hot Sauce
2 tablespoons Tabasco or other hot sauce, plus more to taste
1 tablespoon dark brown sugar
2 teaspoons cider vinegar
Wings Ingredients:
1-2 quarts peanut oil, for frying
1 teaspoon cayenne
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons cornstarch
18 chicken wings (about 3 pounds), wingtips removed and remaining wings separated into 2 parts at joint.
Method
Making the Sauce:
Melt butter in small saucepan over low heat. Whisk in hot sauces, brown sugar, and vinegar until combined. Remove from heat and set aside.
Making the Wings:
Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Line baking sheet with paper towels. Heat 2 1/2 inches of oil in large Dutch oven over medium-high heat to 360 degrees. While oil heats, mix together cayenne, black pepper, salt and cornstarch in small bowl. Dry chicken with paper towels and place pieces in large mixing bowl. Sprinkle spice mixture over wings and toss with rubber spatula until evenly coated. Fry half of chicken wings until golden and crisp, 10 to 12 minutes. With slotted spoon, transfer fried chicken wings to baking sheet. Keep first batch of chicken warm in oven while frying remaining wings.

Those recipies sound downright yummy! I'll try them sometime. Now here is a couple that are straight from my Mama's kitchen and ya'll all know that is gonna be Southern.
Bisquits--The Easy Way
In a large bowl put about 3 cups of self rising flour. Add a large spoon of mayonaise. (yes I said Mayo!). Mix this until you have a grainy like substance. Add milk ( I prefer buttermilk) until you have a thick lumpy batter. Spoon this into a muffin pan you have sprayed with Pam, filling the cups 3/4 the way. Bake in a 425 drgree oven until light brown.
Tomato Gravy
Get the largest Cast Iron skillet you have ( No Dave, not for your head). Pour about 1/2 cup cooking oil in and start it heating. Add enough flour to it to make a thick paste. Keep stirring this to brown it a dark golden brown. Add 1 can of diced tomatoes and enuff hot water to make it just slightly thin. It will thicken as it cooks. Of course you can add diced onions if you like but you need to sautee' them in the oil before you add the flour. Salt and pepper to taste. Serve over the bisquits you made before you started the gravy and which should be just about done by the time your gravy is thick enuff.
Happy eating Ya'll!

Here's one of mine:
BUTTER BAKED SALMON WITH BOW TIE PASTA & CLAMS
Last thing I whipped-up recently was my butter baked salmon with bow tie pasta. You line a glass baking dish with butter, put a nice piece of salmon fillet in, sprinkle garlic powder, cracked pepper, lemon pepper and a little parsley, and place a couple of pats of butter on top. Bake at 365 for about 35 minutes or so, just untill the butter starts turning dark brown in the dish. MMMMM! Delicious!
Boil 1lb of bow tie pasta. While boiling, put a large can of crushed tomatoes, drained, into a large microwavable bowl. Add two small cans of chopped clams, drained. Add lots of garlic powder (about a teaspoon) sprinkle about 1/4 cup of dried basil and add 1/2 teaspoon of cracked pepper. Put the whole bowl in the micro for about 2 1/2 minutes and stir half way through the cook time. When pasta is done boiling (al dente), drain and add it to the large bowl you just got out of the micro. Pour about 1/3 to 1/2 cup of extra virgin olive oil over the top and then toss the pasta and tomato/clam mix together. Top with parmesan cheese!

OK Beanie. Just for you I'll make it with no clams. How about shrimp? If you like shrimp, just use a half pound of medium sized shrimp that have been saute'd in butter and white wine with a little garlic. Drain and add to pasta instead of clams. MMMMMM!!!!
