My drivers seat is just about toast. It's an woven fabric Eldorado VIP by Seats Inc.
Should I just replace it with the same seat or go with something else?
How's leather? How's leather in hot climates with a sometime sweaty driver but on it? :)
If I change one seat out, I'll change out both. For some reason, I hate to see a truck with to different seats in it. :wtf:

Personally I hate leather or vinyl seats. They take too much work to keep soft so they dont crack, they get cold in the winter and really hot in the summer.
If you are going to go to the expense of replacing your seats I would do some real shopping and find one that is extremely comfortable for you.

Search at local truck dealers. Usually they have one or two seats laying around that are new truck take-offs. Meaning that someone ordered a truck and didn't like the seat so they ordered one they wanted. Those take-offs can usually be had for about 1/2 of what they normally want for a seat.
I bought a cloth covered National seat for my truck. It had the 'wider' seat than normal seats have. Much more comfy than the standard Bostrom that came with my truck when it was new.
Uturn is right about leather and vinyl being cold, hard in the winter and hotter than heck in the summer. At least with a cloth seat, your back, butt and backs of your thighs can 'breathe' a little better while you sit.
A comfy seat is worth the extra bucks they cost.

That's what I was thinking. When you go to the dealership, the heat or a/c is running there, in fresh clothes and aren't covered in sweat from working, leather feels nice. But, I'd hate to think what would happen to leather if you forgot about a screwdriver in your back pocket, etc...
That's one thing about the seats I have now, that woven fabric is pretty forgiving. I'm about half tempted to swap the drivers seat for the passenger seat and order an exact copy of what I have now and put it in the pax side. I think that woven material is kinda hot though. Maybe it's just me.

If both seats in your truck are the same, why not switch them from side to side. Saves ya a little money for now. Maybe later this summer after freight has picked up a bit more, then order a new seat for the drivers side.
That's the reason I didn't switch my seats from side to side. Neither were the same type. :wtf:

I had leather seats in the BarneyMobile when I got it. After one trip I decided I needed fabric under me. I wear shorts a lot to drive and there is nothing quite like peeling your legs off a leather seat!!!.....lol

Freight hasn't slowed down for me. :wow: Get this, I've had my chicken lights on the truck for over a month now and haven't had time to hook them up! :wow:
As long as people keep eating, it'll be like this for me for some time. Especially fast food. I'm hauling hambuger patties for most of the burger joint chains when I head south.
I pick up a load of beef and head back north to Ft. Worth.
Or, sometimes a truck load of cheesecake. I hate that plant because I have weakness for cheesecake. I can't hardly walk in the door there without wanting to go on a shark like feeding frenzy.
In between those loads, I haul load of frozen fries for the same fast food chains. Or, I haul the papwer product they use.
I also haul fajita meat for the fast food mexican chains too.
As long as American is lazy, doesn't cook at home and keeps it's passion for fast food, I'll be busy. ;)
