Okay.......here goes my ignorance: Also if there are any driver stressors that put additional wear on the following, what is it and how can it be avoided?

What are 'brake cylinder push rods'? how would I recognize them and what happens if they break? Is welding them back the safe correction for their repair?

What is a 'front end king pin'? How does it affect driving safety? Where exactly is it located?

Gentlemen (or ladies...if others are here) Please and thank you for your info.

"Brake Cylinder push rods" -- are the rods that run from your brake pot to the brake actuater ---no they can't be welded --replace them .

"Front end King Pin" -- is the main pin that holds your front wheel assembly to the truck. If it is worn your truck will have a tendency to wander --If it breaks the wheel assembly can actually come off the truck.

Brake rods are not susceptable to driver stress
King Pins are only susceptable if you drive over curbs or hit a lot of holes etc but the main reason for it to wear is poor service ----lack of grease.

Hope this helps you a little ----- best I can do without a diagram or a truck to point to
