I'd like to purchase a digital camera to carry with me in the truck.I'd like to have one for the usual CYA reasons but most of all there's just some real neat stuff you see from time time that I'd like pictures of.

I don't have a darn clue about what makes a good digital camera. So any advice would be apreciated

Larry, look for one that is easy for you to use, has a minimum of 4 megapixles, and has an expandable memory.

I bought the wife a Kodak easyshare just after Chris was born and we love it. Took us longer to get it out of the box than to learn how to use it, and the software it comes with makes it a snap to transfer you pics to a computer. HP also makes some decent easy to use cameras.

Just be sure to get a memory card for whatever camera you get. The internal memories do not allow for much storage space. I suggest getting at least a 512 mb card.

I got mine through www.tigerdirect.com and ended up getting the camera and a memory card for less than most places wanted for the camera.

HERE (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1699431&CatId=128) is a 5 mp Kodakk for $130.

I carry a Kodak Easy Share CX6200 on the truck with me. The memory card I bought (bigger than the one it came with), holds roughly 112 pics. It's also capable of taking about a 5 minute silent video.

The wife has a Easy Share CX7330. Her's is better than mine is and can make videos with sound.

I've got a HP Photosmart 435. It's only 3.1 megapixels, but the pictures are good (if you don't use the zoom), and I managed to pick it up at Wally World for a cool $65 (on clearance)

Any pics you see that I've posted were taken with this camera.......

Like this one.

My Kodak 6330 has lasted me three years now, and is very user-friendly.
