Cruising e/b on I-90 near Fort McCoy WI yesterday afternoon, I had a plain white Chevy Tahoe pass me, just like a normal motorist would.
As he went by, I noticed body armor hanging on a coat hanger in the right rear side window. It had big letters that said 'Police' on it. The windows weren't tinted, so I had a pretty clear, unobstructed view inside the vehicle.
Also, there were several 'tool boxes', a military style footlocker (painted black) and what looked to be a 'hard' (suitcase type..except longer) gun case for a rifle (sniper?).
The Tahoe had U.S. Gov't license plates, several antennas and LED's (red & blue LEO type) mounted inside at the top (in the upper corners) of the rear window. There was no 'cage' like what's found in typical squad cars.
Any of you LEO types know what agency this was or what agency uses vehicles set up like this?
