I have to replace my wipers, as the driver's side one is starting to come apart. Any suggestions on a good quality wiper? I would rather fork out the $ for a good set that will last, than to have a set that will fall apart right after I install them.

I've always had pretty good luck with AMCO(?) 'winter' blades (blue package). I used them year 'round on the big truck and still use them on my pickup.

Yes, shame on me. It just wasn't something I thought about when I purchased the truck and supplied it with all of the gear. They were fine yesterday, but the thing just started to split last night. It ain't like I've been running around with the wipers like this for weeks. It just happened.

Cut a guy some slack, woncha eh?

I change my windshield once a year. After a year, it can get pretty badly pitted and sand-blasted. I change the wipers at this time. I also change my wiper blades at least once between the windshield changes. I like to change them before I really need them, as they always go to crap at the worst times and weather.

That actually isn't a half bad idea. Windshields are relatively inexpensive, and they can get very pitted with time. I am going to have to file that one away.

Good idea, maxmiddle.

For those of us with curved widshields, ny son said he found a new blade called "Innovations" They mold to the shape of the windshield. Pricey, but good.

Tip for those with Centurys. The driver's side blade seems to lift and leave a space on top right in front of you unwiped. The normal length blade is 22". I use 21" or even 20" blades and the problem is gone.
