Since there are so many positive remarks about TEI any opinions or experiences with Hunt out of Omaha. Seems they are being absorbed by Crete to haul machinery and HH.
Thanks

Hunt Transportation is one of the subsidiaries owned by the Acklie Group.
Acklie owns the following;

When Duane Acklie bought Hunt, back about 5 or 6 years ago, I think, one thing they said was they would let Hunt run on its' own, provided they still run at a profit. A dry van/reefer company doesn't know squat about a flatbed operation. Therefore, other than changing a few things as far as benefits, etc, they left things alone. They tried to integrate Freightliners into the operation, but they found out, to their surprise, that Hunt could get comparable Internationals for less money. Last thing I heard is they will be buying new Internationals.
They haul a lot of farm equipment. Tractors, irrigation systems, etc.
The Co. drivers get the same benefits as Crete and Shaffer drivers. The package is excellent. Health, Dental, 401K, profit sharing, etc.
Any one that has ever worked for an Acklie company will tell you the same thing. Duane Acklie is not a foolish man. He knows how to run a business. He's pretty much stepped back out of the picture, with his son-in-law running things. Since he still owns it all, I'm sure he won't let the son-in-law screw things up too bad.
I left HTL for more money and a smaller company. I had no issues with the Acklie Companies, other than minor ones.
I feel if you can get hooked up with Hunt, do it. You won't regret it.
