KLLM has been having financial trouble for awhile now.

Being they're one of those outfits who "push" lease-purchase scams, I wouldn't recommend them.

Well, as a company driver, KLLM, is not bad at all if you have some experience under your wheel. I think it's 40 cents a mile with an average of about 2500 to 3000mi. weekly and not bad benefits either. I didn't have a problem get'n home (WC Florida) every 2 to 3 weeks.

As an O/O, KLLM, is not the best choice at all, in my opinion of course!!

I was with them from 1999 to 2001 and as with most companies out there I heard Drivers, both CO. and O/O's, that were happy and others that were very unhappy. :noclue:

For a driver, not O/O or lease, they are OK. If you have 1 or 2yrs of seat time, you might check out a sister company of theirs, Vernon Sawyer in Bastrop, LA. Its is owned by KLLM, but it is more of a small company atmosphere. They do pull KLLM loads & trailers, at times. I know sveral guys that have been with them for 5 to 10yrs, and they are very happy with them.

KLLM does NOT offer lease/purchase, let alone push it. As for their financial well-being, they are a privately held company and any speculation on that is just speculation.

They do pay fairly well and I know a couple of O/Os leased on with them who are very satisfied with the company.

BTW, even though they are a reefer company and DO haul food products, food is not the primary product they haul. You will most likely spend less time at food warehouses with KLLM than you would with most reefer companies.

I've noticed more and more brand new KLLM equipment on the roads these days (both tractors and trailer with new logo).
That (to me) says they are doing fine and can afford new equipment (whether the money is borrowed or not).

Rumor has it though, that the new tractors are going to "teams" first, witch could be an indication where their priorities lie...and/or where they hope the companies operations expand.

If you are like me, and like solo operation only----I would have to do some hardcore research on them before even talking to a "salesman" for them on the phone.

Best way? Talk to several "current" drivers!

You will most likely spend less time at food warehouses with KLLM than you would with most reefer companies.
Strange as it may seem, they do seem to get in and out rather quickly where I've seen them.

One nice thing. You can keep your food cold easy. :classic:
