I have been crunching numbers for operating costs and to no shock, they are up. I had planned tomorrow to let my customers know that starting 6/1 I had to raise the cost per mile up .30 cpm, to continue the service they are receiving I could live with.

I get an e-mail and a fax today from 2 customers that they wanted to make sure I was able and planned on continueing the service with them along with they had a few minor changes they hoped I could do for them.

I can do what they need in changes, pick up times and delivery times, no biggy!! They asked me what price change would have to be to conform to Their way of hauling for them..

OK, I am like this is cool,,,,,,,going up .45cpm with both companys and I was thinking .30 cpm..

I guess I wont tell them I was thinking the 30 and they can have it their way!!

Life can be good if your straight up and honest....SERVICE is what keeps them happy and I do it THEIR way also... :)

Way to go, BP.

The company I used to be with, H&M out of Omaha, had a reputation with its' customers that said your load will be there, when you want, in good shape. I find companies that are all owner operator seem to get the job done much better and with less hassles. They used to lose accounts periodically and then, they'd be back begging, cuz the new company couldn't deliver.

A high quality of service makes for happy and long standing customers, every time.

Thanks MM, got em all renewed and now I hope the price of FUEL does not go wild again, but there is a small clause in there to protect me on that..

Just an honest man making an honest deal, I can sleep at night and not feel ashamed of myself.

That is what counts to me. :)
