In Siberia we have warm summer and cold winter.
We have similar operating conditions as well in Canada.
You have simply got used to a warm climate.
Will have a cold - too quickly get used.

Andrey, keep on posting the pictures. There's lots of interesting stuff that you've posted so far.

In Russia (and other countries that you travel to), do you have regulations that tell you how much you can drive a truck each day or week?

It'd be interesting to compare Hours of Service (if you have them).

For information on our Hours of Service, check out this link.

I am surprised.. How it has not lain sideways?

Instructions at us are, but there is no who them will supervise.
Frequently drivers go for 25 hours per day...
If you ask as it - will answer... We on one hour rise earlier....

Service normal at us is not present....
Service is done(made)...
(All that is necessary - is done(made))
Oil we change through 20000 kilometers.
The engine - " SHELL RIMULA X " API - CH-4.

Very much the problem disturbs, that a Mercedes has redeemed company Freightliner.
In Russia refuse to take Freightliner with the engine a Mercedes.
Have very well proved to be Cum (11, 14, 15), DD (11, 12.7, 14), and Cat (14, 15)....
(Cat 12 - whimsical) - Do not love it in Russia.

What for to climb in the normal automobile?
Better would buy ours 'Kamaz' factory and would do(make) Mercedes.
Hands off by Freightliner !!!!! http://smiles2k.net/smiles/big_smiles/super_smilies049.gif

:D ....These are GREAT!!!....Thanks....if I can figure out my new fangled camera I will post pictures of Texas...If I understand correctly you are a small carrier in Russia with 5 trucks that you own....and you hire drivers and find loads for your trucks....in US we must have the authority to run our trucks, or lease the truck to someone who does have authority...the authority is purchased thro the US and state governments....do you have to do this in Russia???...We are a small carrier, we have 2 company trucks we own, and 3 Owner/Oprators that are leased on to us...we are located in Rice, TX about 50 miles south of Dallas, TX on I-45...a very small town of maybe 500 folks....I am not very well traveled and your pictures are sooo cool.... :D

You are wrong, we have also law here.

For trucks drivers :

Inside the Russia 40 hours at week, if you work 5 days at week not more 8 hours at day, if 6 days - not more 7 hours a day.

For international transportations after first 3 hours - 15 min break and next after every 2 hours. All trucks have Speedograph( Takhograph) and policeman can check you speed, driving and rest times.

First of all, welcome to TSUSA. Hope you continue to join us here.

I would guess you got quite a few stares when you started driving the Century in Russia. How many people there drive imported American trucks??

How much American do you have to pay for the Freightliners??? The reason I ask is my son works at a Western Star dealership. When the take a truck in on trade, that's older or has high miles, they wholesale the trucks out. Many times these trucks are bought for export to Europe.

I am long absent.
Went to have a rest on the sea.
In Russia it is a lot of American trucks.
Most of all is Freightliner Century and Freightliner FLD.
Then follows INTERNATIONAL.
There are Sterling and Kenwort.
Very few Western Star.

All trucks have 3-5 years old. Run of 600-700 miles and more.
All began probably from one firm in Saint Petersburg.
Uour link: http://www.truck.ru
The prices on second-hand American trucks can look there.

Trucks are in great demand, have recommended itself very well.
Strong and reliable machines. Not looking that many miles already have passed and have exhausted a guarantee.

It is very a pity, that a Mercedes has redeemed Freightliner.

To Russia at once have forbidden to sell new Freightliner.
Germans are afraid that Freightliner will grasp the market and sales of Mercedes will fall.

Such here affairs.

Enjoyed all the digital pics, Andrey! Some of your earlier ones of the muddy roads and Caterpillars towing reminded me of my younger days back in Western Canada before the days of good Husky Oil Ashphalt paving! We have a type of clay out there called Drumheller Gumbo after the place where there are dinosaur bones sticking out of the clay in some of the ravines! That stuff is legendary when it gets wet in a three day rain! It sucks the gravel off the top and out of sight!
You would be right at home in the West especially since you probably can understand enough Ukranian to be understood and be understood by many of the originals that homesteaded those parts!

Andrey, that must be a link to a Russian forum, I am guessing since I cannot understand the Cyrillic Alphabet nor the Russian words!
The pictures speak a universal language, that of highway carnage, and needless accidents. My Son-inlaw deals with this on a daily basis as a Paramedic Supervisor here in Canada. Do you have air ambulances, (helicopters) and what level of trauma services is provided for the victims of these collisions shown in your photographs on this news forum?
What % of these collisions are attributed to drunk or druggie drivers?
I would be interested in seeing that forum in a translated version! Thank you for posting it even though most of us cannot read it!

Odds are that bent stack happened backing up and caught a tree branch! Bin thar dun dat. It was in a S/W Boston residental neighborhood after delivering a families household goods from Toronto and they did not understand how to direct me while backing out of the deadend side street! Back in Toronto our mechanic straightened the stack on the W900B so that I did not have to display the "ribbon of shame" any more!!!! Hello Andrey,

I hope you are surviving the winter in Russia, if freight is as slow there as it is here I wish you well. We are taking a beating right now, with the high prices of fuel last year and now the shortage of freight it makes it tough to make a living.

You guys look very resourceful at fixing your trucks, in the US they would not let us leave one on the side of the road to fix it we would have to tow it to a shop for a major repair like that.

Keep doing well and post more pictures when you can.

Crisis has touched Russia very rigidly. The national economy simply collapses. The enterprises stop. Everywhere on the enterprises there are reductions of workers. The volume of transportations has fallen at 5-10 time. It is not enough freight. Practically there is nothing to carry. The prices for fuel too the high. I still while am was insolent. But 3 cars from 5 stand.

I'm sure it's stronger than original, with that reinforcement that you put inside the axle tube before welding it back together.

.

Yes. Such alteration strengthens an axis in the most loaded place.
After such procedures you forget about these axes.

I since spring constantly watched cracks on an axis.
It was necessary to repair, but all could not be found time.
That time is not present. That is not present money.
Has waited that has broken it half-and-half...

The back axis has already been repaired in the same way earlier.
Therefore at once did the remained two axes.
