C.H. Robinson is the "Wal-Mart" of brokers. They are quickly takeing over the industry. They are HUGE, and have MANY connections.
As in the trucking industry itself......there are always gonna be the "little guys" that are barely making it.....but still hanging in there. And for the most part, much friendlier, and more organized and experienced.
But I belive C.H. Robinson is always gonna be the biggest.....and as the biggest have more operating revenue.....and with higher revenues come more and more connections.
The one thing about CHRW, is they can get you out of any area, and into any area, on any given day-----the rates may not be as good as you want them....but as Jack5 said,
they ARE negotionable.
I also belive, that you may want to "pick & choose" the loads you want to negotiate with them.....because if you do it every time, they will red flag you and not work with you any more.
I have hauled some REALLY good paying loads for them.....and I have hauled those .90 cpm "get me the hell outta here" loads for them too.
My point is: They are the biggest. And as such, like Wal-Mart hated by lots. But; unfortunately, as the biggest.....you WILL eventually deal with them from time to time. So why would you rule them out?
